Graduate Programs
Berklee Valencia offers diverse graduate programs for students at all levels to explore and achieve their artistic, academic, and career potential.
First opened in January 2012, the academic area includes ensemble rooms, classrooms, teaching studios, and practice rooms. All rooms have been specifically built to the highest standards of acoustics, through the use of soundproofing as well as absorption and diffusion materials on room surfaces in order to provide rooms with sonic isolation.
As a student at Berklee in Valencia, you will enjoy performance spaces that emulate the conditions found in professional environments with state-of-the-art equipment and a wide variety of musical instruments.
Rehearsal Rooms
Two rehearsal rooms provide versatile spaces for ensemble rehearsals, classes, and guest artist workshops. Each room is equipped with Yamaha baby grand pianos, drum sets, amplifiers, percussion instruments, mixers, and stereo PA systems. Both rooms are fully soundproofed and available for reservation when not in use for classes.
Classrooms
Classrooms accommodate between 20 and 36 students and are designed for flexible instruction. Each room includes projection capabilities, interactive displays or staved whiteboards, stereo sound systems, and pianos.
Teaching Studios
Teaching studios support one-on-one instruction in voice and instrumental performance. These rooms vary in setup to accommodate diverse student needs, with configurations that may include multiple drum sets, marimbas, or two baby grand pianos. When not in use for lessons, the studios can be reserved for practice, rehearsal, or creative work. As with most rooms on the Valencia campus, you and your teachers can reserve teaching studios through an online booking system.
Practice Rooms
Soundproofed practice rooms are available for students to reserve throughout campus opening hours. These spaces vary in setup, offering pianos, drum kits, amplifiers, or open configurations depending on need. Acoustic design ensures privacy and sound isolation, providing students the freedom to refine their craft. A guitar practice room features a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe III amplifier.
Instrument Storage and Lockers
All students are assigned a personal locker. Larger instrument lockers are available by request, with priority given to contemporary performance students.
Accessibility
The campus includes an elevator platform providing access to the second floor for wheelchair users and people with reduced mobility. Students requiring this service should contact facilities at facilitiesvalencia@berklee.edu.
Music Technology Complex
Acoustic Design by Walters-Storyk Design Group
The music technology complex houses two technology labs, five recording studios, and the Ann Kreiss Scoring Stage. Designed by Walters-Storyk Design Group in collaboration with Berklee faculty and staff, these facilities provide students with world-class resources for recording, production, and music technology.
Walters-Storyk Design Group has designed studios for artists and organizations such as Alicia Keys, Bob Marley, Bruce Springsteen, Celine Dion, Jay-Z, and Jazz at Lincoln Center.
Every aspect of the technology complex is geared toward preparing you to meet the challenges of the evolving music industry environment.
Ann Kreiss Scoring Stage
The Ann Kreiss Scoring Stage is the largest recording facility on campus, with a versatile live room, a control room featuring an Avid S6 digital console, and multiple isolation booths. The stage supports stereo and 7.1 surround mixing, and is equipped with professional microphones, a Yamaha grand piano, and a variety of outboard gear. Graduate students use the space extensively for recording-based projects, often collaborating with professional musicians from Valencia’s orchestras and participating in remote recording sessions with ensembles worldwide.
Recording Studios A–D
Four smaller studios provide students with weekly bookable time for recording and mixing. Each control room is equipped with Neve and True preamps, EQ units, MIDI controllers, and Genelec monitors, with layouts designed for flexibility across production and post-production workflows. Studio A features a Dolby Atmos 7.4.1 system for immersive audio, while Studios B–D include connected isolation rooms for additional recording options.
Technology Labs
Two technology labs function as classrooms and creative spaces. Each workstation includes an ultrawide monitor, MIDI keyboard, Mac Studio computer, and a wide range of software tools. Available DAWs include Pro Tools, Logic, Ableton Live, Cubase, Digital Performer, and Reason, alongside the full Adobe Creative Suite. One lab supports advanced work in VR/AR applications, video editing, and multimedia design.
Keyboard Lab
The Keyboard Lab provides a dedicated acoustically treated space for keyboard instruction and practice, and is also available to reserve for student rehearsals.
Creative Suite
Opened in 2025, the Creative Suite is a flexible, multipurpose hub designed to support recording, production, and ensemble rehearsal. It integrates three interconnected zones (a recording and mixing area, a music production area, and a rehearsal area) allowing students to collaborate across disciplines and work on projects at a professional level.
Aula Magna
Aula Magna (classroom 127) is the largest classroom and event space on campus, seating more than 100 students. With retractable seating, the room can quickly transform from a lecture hall into an open venue for workshops, performances, or live recordings.
The space is equipped with professional-grade technology, including a massive LED wall, a hyper-realistic sound system, and stage lighting, making it one of the most versatile venues on campus. Aula Magna serves as a central gathering point for academic courses, community events, and high-profile guest presentations.
Library
The Berklee Valencia Library is a light-filled space overlooking the City of Arts and Sciences, offering a collection of scores, books, multimedia, and electronic resources. It also functions as a study area and classroom. Dedicated librarians support students with research, access to Berklee’s global digital library system, and requests for additional materials. The library also houses Berklee Valencia merchandise for purchase.
Adjacent to the main library are new student-only meeting rooms and a dedicated study area, providing additional collaborative and individual workspaces.
Palau de les Arts
Located in the City of Arts and Sciences and designed by architect Santiago Calatrava, the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía is a world-class venue for opera, music, and theater. Berklee maintains a close partnership with the Palau, giving students opportunities to perform, record, and attend events.
Teatre Martín i Soler
This 400-seat theater, located within the Palau, hosts student performances and projects. Equipped with professional stage technology, the theater provides a professional setting for music, opera, and interdisciplinary work.
The Auditori
With a capacity of 1,490 and acoustics designed for symphonic music, The Auditori is used for large-scale concerts, conferences, and premieres, including Berklee events.
