Collaboration with the Berklee Popular Music Institute

This collaboration between Berklee Valencia and the Berklee Popular Music Institute immerses students in real-world industry roles within the European festival scene.

Program Overview

This unique opportunity for select graduate students in the Live Entertainment track of Berklee Valencia’s Global Entertainment and Music Business Program may serve as a student’s Live Practicum project. The program bridges theory and professional practice by engaging students in the end-to-end process of booking an emerging performing artist and managing a multi-stop European festival tour.

Students will work in consultation with their faculty advisor and the program director to execute the project at a professional level. Students will be assigned a developing artist and will work with that artist to enhance brand identity, create an industry-ready press kit, develop and execute press and media strategies, and route and manage a festival tour. The experience provides on-the-ground touring experience where students rotate professional roles, such as tour manager, production manager, press, and content creation).

Through milestone deliverables, check-ins, rehearsals, and live touring, students will gain professional-level skills in tour advancing, project management and budgeting, technical production, PR strategy, and industry communications.

It was a fast-paced and exciting experience that confirmed my passion for working behind the scenes in live music.
